Welcome |
|
There are many benefits
to the youth in Missouri and Arkansas that the Earl Collins Kiwanis
Foundation provides because of our support of this important Kiwanis
service activity. The Foundation, with the help of Kiwanis Clubs
and individual Kiwanians, is providing college scholarships to deserving
high school seniors to assist them in furthering their education.
The Foundation's goal is to provide one scholarship in each of the 23
Divisions so that all areas of our District can be represented in providing
Kiwanis services to the youth of our communities. The foundation
continues to need your support.
In addition to the scholarships granted, the Foundation provides financial assistance to the Key Club and Circle K Districts and to other worthwhile Kiwanis service activities which are permitted under Foundation bylaws. There are many other opportunities where the Foundation could provide higher education scholarships, particularly in support of our Sponsored Youth programs. We are limited only by the amount of available funds. Since its inception in 1960, the principal balance of the fund has grown to nearly $500,000. Only the income produced by the fund can be expended on the activities mentioned above. Currently, capital funding comes from Kiwanis Clubs, individual contributions, honors and memorials to Kiwanians, the proceeds from the silent auction at the District Convention, sale of Missouri-Arkansas history books, and a percentage of matching funds from the Kiwanis International Foundation's Annual Birthday Celebration giving. Here are some ways you and your club can help us achieve our goals: Contributions: Consider a club or individual contribution to the Earl Collins Kiwanis Foundation in an amount which is appropriate for your club. Honors and Memorials: "Tribute cards" can be used to honor Kiwanians when they receive recognition, enter a hospital for treatment,, or on the occurrence of other appropriate events. "Memory cards" can be used in recognition of someone's death. A memorial card is sent to the named person's family for whom a contribution is made. An Acknowledgement is also sent to the donor. Silent Auction: Help us obtain items to sell in the auction each year at the District Convention. The more valuable items that we can assemble, the better possibility for increasing our revenue from this activity. Missouri-Arkansas District History Books: A history book can help provide Kiwanis education to new and present Kiwanians. A wealth of information about our District is included in this book. The books are $15 each. To make a contribution, honor or memorialize a Kiwanian, or order
a cook book, make your check payable to the Earl Collins Kiwanis Foundation
and mail it to Secretary: |
